What is the Health Action Conference? 

The Health Action Conference is Families USA’s premier annual gathering that brings together policy experts, state and national leaders, health care advocates, and community members to explore transformational solutions for reshaping the future of health care.

 

Now in its 31st year, the 2026 conference theme is “Fighting for the Future of Our Health" highlighting the power of collective action to defend and advance health care policies and access nationwide. 

 

When and where will the 2026 Health Action Conference take place? 

The two-day in person event will be held January 22–23, 2026, at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC. The historic hotel is in the heart of the nation’s capital, only steps away from the National Mall, Capitol Building, White House and the Smithsonian Museums. 

 

Will there be a virtual or hybrid option? 

No. HAC 2026 will be in-person only. While there will not be a live streaming virtual component, session recordings will be available for purchase directly following the conference.

You can register online via our official conference website. 

 

Early Bird Registration: Opens Tuesday August 5, 2024 – Ends Wednesday, October 1, 11:59 PM ET 

 

All in-person registrations include access to plenary and breakout sessions, networking events, meals, refreshments, and conference materials.  

 

What are the conference fees?  

When do I book my hotel?  

You can book your hotel as soon as registration opens on August 5, 2025. A special discounted room block is available at the Capital Hilton, where the conference will be held.  

Take advantage of the special Health Action rate of $249 per night (plus tax). This rate is available until Friday, December 19, 2025. After this date, rooms are subject to availability and may be priced higher.  

We recommend booking early to ensure availability, as rooms fill up quickly. Visit the Register page to book links and additional details. 

 

Can my organization exhibit or sponsor at HAC 2026? 

Yes! We welcome sponsors and exhibitors who are committed to advancing and defending health care. There are multiple sponsorship levels and exhibitor options available. Are scholarships or financial assistance available? 

A limited number of need-based scholarships are available to individuals who may otherwise be unable to attend. Scholarship applications must be submitted by Friday, September 5, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET. 

 

What health and safety measures will be in place at the conference? 

Families USA prioritizes the health and safety of all attendees. We will follow the latest CDC and local health guidelines. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available onsite, and we will provide regular updates if additional precautions are necessary. Visit our website for the most up-to-date safety protocols.
